The Protect Our Rights Campaign, FOR Initiative 439, is an initiative to protect Nebraska women by ending the current abortion ban, and preventing future bans.
Protect Our Rights is a coalition of Nebraskans and local reproductive health, rights, and justice organizations working to end the ban and make it so families have control over their own medical decisions.

Initiative 439 is backed by grassroots organizations, medical professionals, individuals, and trusted institutions representing Nebraskans from all across the state. We are coming together to put patient health and safety above government interference and give Nebraskans the power to make their own personal medical decisions.
Initiative 434 opens the door to even more government control over health care, including the power to ban things like IVF and miscarriage care. Nebraska politicians, led by Gov Pillen, have even said that Initiative 434 is the first step to completely banning abortion in Nebraska, without any exceptions. Nebraskans need to vote AGAINST 434.
In order to end the current government ban, Nebraskans need to vote AGAINST 434 and FOR 439. It takes two votes to ensure there are no future bans on abortion in Nebraska.

Today, Protect Our Rights, Initiative 439, released a new television ad titled WATCHED. The ad recounts the true, heartbreaking story of Kimberly Paseka, a wife and mother who, due to the restrictions in the current abortion ban, was forced to bleed at home as she awaited the inevitable end of a pregnancy. The current abortion ban and Initiative 434 do not provide exceptions for abortions in the cases of fatal fetal anomalies.

Today, Allie Berry, Campaign Manager of Protect Our Rights, Initiative 439 on the ballot, issued the following statement:
“Lies, lies, and more lies. That’s the story of Initiative 434, also known as the Protect Women & Children. Today, we reluctantly filed a Cease & Desist letter to stop their irresponsible misinformation campaign that’s running in the state. During the petition process, Protect Women & Children misrepresented their measure to Nebraska voters and, as a result, received a record number of complaints to the Secretary of State.”
